Rising Stars Picnic Concert

On the 11th of March we came together as a JAMFAM to show our support for the launch of our crowdfunding page for the Rising Stars Program, which was created in 2017. Learners from Wynberg Girls’ High School, Livingstone High School, SACS, Springfield Convent Senior and Junior Schools, Oakhurst Primary School, Rustenburg Junior School and Camps Bay High School put on a sunset concert for friends and family to raise funds to sustain the Rising Stars Program this year.

With a goal of raising R15 000 at the Picnic Concert, all proceeds from ticket sales, donations, raffle entries and merch went towards the Program. Thanks to the generous donations from our community, we raised R9855. This allows us to purchase new equipment for our Rising Stars hub at Livingstone High School. We would like to say a big thank you to each and everyone of you for supporting our Rising Stars Program, whether it be through donations or sharing information about our Program to friends and family through social media.

It goes without saying that we are incredibly proud of our students for putting on a stellar performance after only a few weeks of rehearsal after the summer holiday. If the Picnic Concert is an indication of the year to come, we have no doubt our students will perform phenomenally at the upcoming Marimba Jam Eisteddfod.
